Reactivating AmsterdamREALTIME entails restoring the 2003 Flash-based interactive animation of the AmsterdamREALTIME project. The restoration will be executed in close collaboration with LI-MA and The Waag futurelab.

To kick off the project, Esther gave, together with designer Bente van Bourgondiën, a presentation on AmsterdamREALTIME at LI-MA’s annual international symposium on the preservation of digital art. This symposium invites national and international participants from diverse backgrounds to explore strategies for conserving digital artworks.

The symposium participants gave excellent feedback to Esther and Bente, which will help them make informed restoration decisions in the coming months.

Transformation Digital Art 2025 took place on 20 -21 March 2025   @ Lab111, Amsterdam.
